Risk
Crawling out of bed on a sunny day
The crisp wind flowing across the bay
What does life have in store?
Won’t know until I open the door
Treading lightly avoiding the cracks
Ignoring the avenues, not looking back
Always walking on a set path
Careful to not incite other’s wrath
Existence is boring, but predictable
Making life easily manageable
No climaxes, twists, or turns
That’s why the fool never learns
Wish I had a courageous heart
Allow my passions to create art
Wisdom abounds on those who dare
To escape mediocrity’s engulfing snare
I should rise above the faceless flock
Wear sandals with long white socks
Confront the lies with simple truth
Who cares if they think I’m uncouth?
The only mind that matters is mine
If they get mad, that’s completely fine
So long, safe straight road!
I hop on this trail…full risk mode!
I embrace my heart’s fire
It’s the only way to go higher
Fly or die, it doesn't matter, my friend
I’ll be my true self to the end
