Cage Inside

Trapped within my mind

An escape I try to find

These thoughts never rest

Anger, uncertainity, and hate infest

Nothing is ever enough

Tired of being tough

Tear me down asunder

I simply want to surrender

Feelings gushing until I strain

My body stricken with pain

Fears and doubt leave me broken

Only when I have awoken

The power within my soul

Can I ever become whole

I’ll  cast away my cage

Battling through life’s carnage

From within, there is always a war

Because my soul is worth fighting for
